Substitute Instructor/Office Staff/Seamstress & Costuming

Miss Shelly has been dancing since she was 3 years old.  Her love for dance led her to
Steppin' Out Dance Center.  She has attended Dance Masters of America, Dance Caravan,
and Rhee Gold's DanceLife Conferences to continue her education.  She has studied under
Judy Rice, Diane Gudat, Rhee Gold, Art Stone, and Finis Jhung.  Miss Shelly is a member of
the Soroptimist Club of Lima, the Lima Chamber of Commerce, and holds several dance club
memberships.  Her passion is to give every child the best dance education available.  Miss
Shelly currently is our on-staff permanant substitute.  

She has five children of her own and is a grandmother of eight. She enjoys spending her
spare time with her family.

Miss Karin has danced since the age of three.  After growing up in competition dance, she went
to BGSU to major in elementary education with a minor in fine arts. Miss Karin has taken
classes under Gregg Russell, Rosemarie Boyden, Thommie Walsh, Miller and Ben,
Christopher Smith and many others.  

She has attended Dance Caravan and Rhee Gold Dance Conventions to continue her
education.  Miss Karin has performed in local productions of Oliver, 42nd Street, Anything Goes
and Crazy For You.  She also won an award for her choreography for Encore Theater's
performance of Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, and Little Women.  In addition, she has
choreographed pieces for Square Fair, Lima Symphony Orchestra, and SODC's Company
members earning numerous awards.  Miss Karin is an asset to our staff at SODC.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters Alanna and
Arianna and her son Anderson.
Studio Director/Instructor/Choreographer

Miss Shifawn has danced since the age of two and was involved in competition dance for
several years.  She went on to the University of Toledo to become a UT Rockette.  Miss Shifawn
has studied under Joe Tremaine, Joe Lanteri, Barry Youngblood, Gregg Russell and many
other talented professionals.  She has continued her education by attending Dance Caravan
and Rhee Gold's DanceLife Conference.  

She been involved in several area cheerleading programs such as the Delphos All-Star
Cheerleaders as well as the past director of the Lima Rebels Dance Team.  Miss Shifawn has
choreographed dances for many local functions such as Soroptimist of Lima and the Square
Fair as well as winning numerous Overall awards and judge's choreography awards at

She is a member of the Phi Delta Sorority of Delphos and is active in the Delphos St. John
school system.  Miss Shifawn loves to spend time with her husband and three children,
Hayleigh, Carsten, and Brexley.

Miss Kealey has been dancing since she was 2 years old at SODC.  She was a Steppin' Out
Dance Center Company member and alumni.  She attended Wright State University where
she was on the Emerald Jazz Dance Team.  She taught at All That Dance in Springboro, OH
during college.  She has been a coach for the Lima Rebels.  She has taken classes from
several leading professionals.  She recently started teaching some of our company classes
and won several overall and special awards this year.  We are fortunate to have Miss Kealey
on our staff.  She is our certified tumbling instructor.

In her spare time Miss Kealey enjoys spending time with her husband Andy and her three
children Brandt, Kade and Emerson.   

Miss Amy comes to us from Tap on Wood Dance Studio.  She is in her third year with Steppin'
Out Dance Center.  Miss Amy teaches in our recreational program and has done an
amazing job with our students.  Miss Amy is helping SODC to grow by sharing her knowledge
and love for the art of dance.  We are so happy to have her on staff.

In her spare time Miss Amy spends time with her husband Bill and her children Caleb, Natalie
and B.J.
